Workshops and classes are held throughout the Washington, DC and Baltimore Metropolitan areas. They are conducted in working production company facilities, as well as on job sites, using state of the art professional equipment.

To provide real-world, hands on learning opportunities, students train on the exact gear they will be using in the field.

POWERPOINT FOR THE NOVICE GRAPHICS TECH

A one-day workshop for the PowerPoint novice in the live event/AV industry to learn the skills and nuances of working in PPT on show site. Gain the confidence and ditch the panic the next time you sit in the “Graphics” seat.

You will need a laptop and a working version of MS PowerPoint (preferably a newer version).

Audio Tech for Breakout Rooms

DON’T FEAR THE FEEDBACK

Installing a couple of speakers, a mixer, and a mic or two seems so simple on the surface, yet Meeting Room sound systems are one of the largest source of failure in the industry. This workshop is designed to give the Meeting Room tech the finer points of meeting room audio, including proper speaker placement, equalization, basic acoustics, gain structure, controlling feedback, and more.

ENHANCE YOUR SKILLS TO GET MORE SHOW CALLS

This Workshop is designed for non-technical stage hands and event labor personnel who need to enhance their skill sets in order to qualify as a General AV Stage Tech.  This two-day workshop will provide the audio, video, cabling and big picture skills required to assist in set up of AV equipment after the truck has been unloaded and the cases have been pushed.

Intro Camera Op

LEARN TO OPERATE A STUDIO CAMERA FOR LIVE EVENTS

This two-day workshop covers the basics of setting up and operating a typical studio camera for live events. This workshop features hands-on experience and will familiarize you with the basic functions and controls, proper balancing, terminology, understanding how to follow and work with a Director, headset etiquette, and more.

Barco E2 Cert Prep Workshop

GET THE MOST OUT OF THE BARCO E2 CERTIFICATION

The Barco E2 Certification course can be fast-paced and overwhelming for those individuals who have limited experience with Seamless Production Switching. This one-day workshop will prepare you for taking the course by familiarizing you with the user interface, terminology, and basic functions of the switching system.

(Note: this is NOT a Barco e2 certification course, and completion of this workshop does NOT imply you are qualified as an e2 operator.)

You will need a laptop with the latest download of the e2 control software available free on the Barco site.

LEARN BASIC LIGHTING SET UP AND OPERATION

This one-day workshop covers the basics of setting up and operating conventional and LED lighting systems. The workshop will familiarize you with the basic fixture types, proper focusing and cabling, electrical requirements, terminology, Basic Photometrics, DMX, conventional lighting controllers, and more, including hands-on experience.
